On the route from Rishikesh to Lansdowne while road tripping through Garhwal hills of Uttarakhand, we met with a stoppage due to a landslide and the stoppage necessitated a stopover!
And a beautiful stopover it ended up being in a Town called ‘Khirsu’.
Khirsu is a very quiet and cool hill town with a lot of dense forests where we were able to witness a romantic sunset as we reached, followed by dinner by the bonfire at the cottage we lodged ourselves in.
These reasonably priced cottages were run by the State Tourism department unit termed ‘Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam’.
The peaceful surroundings and a very tired day led us all to having a sound sleep and we were greeted by an equally pristine Sunrise the next morning.
A sumptuous breakfast later we headed towards our destination next, called Lansdowne.
